The best vacation rental website builders in 2026, compared honestly

The right direct booking website depends less on templates than on one question: which property management system (PMS) runs your calendar? Most builders only work with their own PMS. Choosing one can mean moving your whole operation. This guide sorts the options by that question, with prices taken from each company’s own pages.

How we compared them

If you already use Lodgify

Lodgify’s own website builder

The Starter plan ($33/month billed monthly) adds a no-code website builder and booking widget to Lodgify’s channel manager, and Lodgify lists a 0% booking fee. You pick a template and add your property details and photos. It is the most direct option if you’re happy to write and maintain the pages yourself. The Basic plan ($18/month) doesn’t include a website. Read our Lodgify website builder review for the details.

STR Direct

STR Direct reads your Lodgify calendar through your API key and drafts the website for you: the pages, the FAQ and local guide pages, from what Lodgify already knows about your place. You approve every word. Guests pay into your own Stripe account, bookings write back to Lodgify, and each booking is reported by the post, guide or email that brought it. It costs $49.99 a month per published site on top of your Lodgify plan and takes no commission. It only supports Lodgify today; Hostaway, Guesty and OwnerRez are planned.

Boostly

Boostly builds a custom WordPress site for you, typically live in about 30 days, and lists Lodgify among the systems it connects to. It bundles coaching and marketing support. Boostly doesn’t publish prices; you get a quote on a call.

Wix or Squarespace with the Lodgify widget

Lodgify’s booking widget can be embedded on other sites. That gives you complete design freedom, at the cost of two subscriptions and property pages you maintain by hand.

Houfy

Houfy is a commission-free booking marketplace with an AI website builder. It connects to Lodgify, and guests pay into your own Stripe, Square or PayPal account. On PMS-connected bookings the guest pays a 5% connection fee. Houfy’s pricing and website-builder pages disagreed on whether the website is free or part of its $11.99 Premium plan, so ask them.

If you’re choosing a PMS anyway

Hostaway, Guesty, Hostfully and OwnerRez each include a direct booking website with their own PMS. None of them works with a Lodgify calendar, so they only make sense if you’re switching systems. Watch the per-booking fees: Hostaway’s Pro website adds 0.5% plus a 1.8% guest fee in the US, Guesty Lite’s $9 option adds 1% per reservation, and Hostfully’s Growth plan adds 0.85% plus a 1% gateway fee. Hostfully’s site also runs on a subdomain such as book.yourdomain.com. OwnerRez charges no booking fees and lets you bring your own payment processor.

Break-even math

A direct booking has to cover your website’s monthly cost. If Airbnb would have kept 15.5% of a $1,700 stay, that one booking saved about $263, which covers most website subscriptions for a month or more. Our Airbnb host fees guide has a calculator for your own numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a website if I’m on Airbnb?

No, but a website gives returning guests and your own followers a way to book without platform fees. Most hosts run one alongside their listings.

Can I keep Lodgify and use a different website?

Yes. STR Direct, Boostly, Houfy and the Lodgify widget on Wix or Squarespace all keep your calendar in Lodgify.

What does a vacation rental website cost?

For one property, the options in the table range from included in your PMS plan to about $85 a month (STR Direct plus a Lodgify Starter plan), plus card processing. Custom and done-for-you builds are quoted separately.
