What is a direct booking website?
A website for your rental where guests check real dates, see the full price and book with you instead of through Airbnb or Vrbo. You keep the guest’s contact details and they skip the platform’s service fee. Most hosts run one alongside their listings, not instead of them.
How is this different from a vacation rental website builder?
Most website builders start you from a template and leave the writing, photos and booking setup to you. STR Direct starts from what Lodgify already knows about your place: AI drafts the pages, the FAQ and the local guides, and you approve every word. Availability, pricing and payment are connected from the start.
I already have Lodgify. Why not use its website?
Lodgify’s own website builder, included from its Starter plan, is a good choice if you’re happy to write and maintain the pages yourself, and it has no booking fee. STR Direct is for hosts who want the site written for them: it drafts the pages and local guides from your Lodgify listing, takes payment into your own Stripe account, and shows which post, guide or email each booking came from. Your calendar stays in Lodgify either way.
How long does it take to get started?
Paste your Lodgify API key and we import your property. Review the first draft, publish, and your site is live at your STR Leads address. Your own domain needs one DNS change, and SSL is usually ready within half an hour. Connecting Stripe to take payments takes a few minutes with your business details.
What does it cost?
Free to import your property and preview your whole site — no card, no time limit. When you publish it, that starts a 3-day trial and it is $49.99 a month per published site after that. You only pay for sites you publish; a site left as a preview costs nothing. One direct booking of $334 covers the month if it would otherwise have gone through a platform keeping about 15% — that assumption is ours, and your own numbers may differ. Guest payments go straight to your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its fees to you directly, and we take nothing. Your channel manager’s fees still apply.
Do I have to use Lodgify?
Today, yes. Your website reads availability and prices from Lodgify and writes bookings back, so your calendar stays right everywhere. Hostaway, Guesty and OwnerRez are coming soon. Confirm your integration before starting your trial.
Do I keep my Airbnb and Vrbo listings?
Yes. Your listings stay exactly where they are. Because dates flow through Lodgify, a direct booking blocks the calendar on every platform, and a platform booking blocks your website.
Who handles the payment?
Guests pay through Stripe. Guest payments go straight to your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its fees to you directly, and we take nothing. You are the merchant of record and we never hold the money. You connect your Stripe account during setup, and guests see the same total your channel manager would quote.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. We give you the exact records to add at your domain provider, and the site serves over SSL once they resolve. You’ll need access to wherever your domain is registered.
Will my website rank on Google?
You get search-friendly foundations, a sitemap submitted to Google, and tools to write useful guides. Rankings depend on your content, your competition and time. They aren’t guaranteed.
Can I change the design?
Today you start with one designed website and make it yours with your photos, your words and your guides. More look-and-feel customization is planned.
